  1. Surely the ability to devote whole months to activity not immediately productive of food or shelter is the greatest luxury there is.

    1. You’re referring to the months Cherry and Co. spent trying to reach the South Pole? Yes, that’s a fair point. There is of course the work required to not freeze or starve to death, which seemed to occupy an awful lot of their time.
